Q: What is structured cabling?
A: Structured cabling is the implementation of a precise design and installation of a network, that will support the specific needs of the company that requires the service. Not all companies are created equal and neither are structured cabling systems. Size of the business, speed of data transfer rates needed and types of equipment that need to be connected are just a few of the things to consider when designing and installing a structured cabling network.
Q: What kind of cost can I expect?
A: Not all Structure cabling networks will cost the same. Depending on the type of cable, jacks and equipment required each job needs to be accessed on its own. There are many different factors that decide what will be the best structured network for your business and that brings a wide range of exspenses. With that said, because we specialize in structured cabling and have years of training and certificates we are able to make excellent relationships with suppliers and manufactures of high quality product, which allows us to install quality product at a lower rate than most.
Q: Why wouldn't I just use my electrician?
A: Some electrical companies will install data networks as its a great way for them to make more money on a job, but would you get your drywall guy to install your floors?..not likely. Structured cabling companies are trained on how and where to run cable, terminate cable, and what kind of things to avoid when running data cable to ensure that the network is working at its optimal capabilities. If data cable is not properly installed it could in the future cause equipment to fail as well cable to rerun down the road, which cost money down the road. Its also worth noting that electricians usually charge out at higher rate making it more expensive.

Q: Do i need a Fiber link installed?
A: The general rule of thumb for data cable to work properly is 300ft. Once the distance from your IT room to a location that needs to be connected to that network, you should start considering having a Fiber link installed.
